The high school counseling office is gearing up for another year of educating our students with monthly topics that will set our students up for a successful year. September’s theme was ‘Testing 101’. This topic advises students about the grade appropriate state and standardized tests they will take this year. Mrs. Smith provided handouts with important test dates, what to expect, and how to prepare. Tests like the ACT, PSAT, and the ASVAB were specifically discussed so that students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns about test taking. Links to those handouts are located on our website, click ‘Documents’, and scroll. to the bottom of the page. In October, Mrs. Smith will discuss graduation, seals, and plans.
Important upcoming dates:
10/25 PSAT, Juniors; sign up in the Counseling Office
11/22 Sophomore experience day at Hi-Point
11/22 ASVAB all juniors
12/5-9 State Test retakes

Tis the season for......APPLES! Mrs. Blair’s STEM class put their engineering skills to the test creating an apple bobber! They were given a specific list of supplies they could use to create their bobber that would retrieve apples from a bucket of water. The student team who created the most effective bobber and retrieved the most apples from the bucket won! The winning team was Lucas Piacentino and Iris Meister! Great work!

Mrs. Stayrook’s first graders are learning all about apples! During their investigation, they made several observations and discoveries including color, shape, and size (by measuring how tall and around). They completed their ‘Investigation Apple’ packets with all of the information they learned! Keep up the great work, first graders!
