We are excited to share that Kayla Peterson has been selected as the next Head Volleyball Coach for the Tigers, pending board approval.
A proud WL-S alum and former collegiate standout, Coach Peterson brings a strong background in both playing and coaching. She has served in coaching roles at Johnathan Alder High School and previously at West Liberty-Salem, while also competing as a collegiate athlete and team captain. Her experience developing athletes, building team culture, and emphasizing fundamentals, leadership, and accountability will be a tremendous asset to our program.

This clinic provides a convenient opportunity for students to receive required and recommended immunizations without ever leaving school. See the flyer for more information!

Congratulations to Ella Vondenhuevel, who was recognized yesterday at the Ohio FFA Convention as an Ohio FFA Work-Based Learning Program recipient!
As part of this honor, Ella received a $500 contribution to the West Liberty-Salem FFA Chapter, supporting continued growth and opportunities for our students. 👏
We’re also excited to share that Ella will begin her agricultural journey this summer with Sunrise Cooperative, gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Our first graders have an exciting (and adorable!) ongoing lab that’s just too cute not to share!
Students have been carefully observing eggs in their classroom incubators, and now the magic is happening… they’re starting to hatch! 🐥✨
So far:
🐣 Each class has welcomed at least one baby chick
🐣 Mrs. Stayrook’s class has 3 chicks
🐣 Mrs. Yoder’s class has 6 chicks
The sweet chirps and tiny flapping wings have quickly captured the hearts of our students! Beyond the cuteness, this hands-on experience is teaching them responsibility and care as they help look after the chicks until they’re ready to return to their farm home.
And trust us… the fun is just getting started! 💛
