Our 8th graders arrived in Washington D.C. late yesterday! They toured Arlington National Cemetary, Kennedy graves, Challenger and Columbia Memorials, and saw the Changing of the Guards. They walked to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, Memorial sites of Martin Luther King, Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Jefferson Memorial. Today, they toured Mount Vernon (where they are pictured), stopped for a photo at the White House/Lafayette Park, and took a lunch cruise aboard Spirit of Washington! They have a busy afternoon planned, and we will share more photos from our amazing chaperones as they come!

Happy Administrative Professionals' Day to our outstanding administrative team! They go above and beyond for our students, staff and families. They are the behind the scenes, the smiling face when you enter the building, the morning greeters to hundreds of young minds, the ones who say, 'no problem' and find a solution. We are grateful, blessed, and honored to thank these wonderful ladies for all they do for our district! Please help us thank Jen Wilcoxon, Attendance, Candace Watson, Guidance, Julie Nieman, High School, Alysson Cotrell, Elementary, and Liz Carter, Central Office for all they do!

Students became sticky-birds and studied an imaginary species of worms to better understand how natural selection occurs. Birds (8th grade Science students) competed against one another for as many worms as they could get before the crazy farmer lady (as Mrs. Fullenkamp refers to her role in the lab) chased them off. They had a lot of fun!
