🎨 Hands-On Creativity in Painting Class! Art students in Mrs. Seymour’s painting class took their creativity to the next level with a unique, once-a-year tradition — building their own canvases from scratch! 🛠️🖌️ From cutting and assembling frames to stretching and priming the canvas, students learned the full process of preparing a professional painting surface. This hands-on project not only teaches valuable craftsmanship but also gives students a true sense of ownership over their art. We can’t wait to see the masterpieces they’ll create next! 🧡🖤 #WLSSpotlight #TigerPride #StudentArtists #HandsOnLearning #CreativityInAction

🍬🍫 8th Graders Sweeten Up Their ELA Skills! 🍫🍬 This week's ELA review was a treat as our 8th graders played a candy-themed game to practice some “sweet” testing strategies! 🎮 They read delicious passages about the history of iconic candies like Gummy Bears, Pez, Pocky, and more. 🍬 Then, they put their skills to the test by hunting for important direction words and tackling multi-part questions. 💡 But the fun didn’t stop there! The correct answers helped them unlock an acrostic with a historical candy fact 🍭 and, of course, earned them plenty of candy rewards! 🍫 It was a tasty way to boost those test prep skills! 😄 #CandyReview #ELAStrategy #SweetSuccess #8thGradeFun

📚💛 We may have missed posting on School Librarians Day, but our students definitely didn’t miss the chance to celebrate our amazing librarians! Mrs. Perdue (pictured below) is holding just one of over 200 handmade thank you notes she received — a small glimpse of the love and appreciation our elementary students have for her and all she does! From finding the perfect book to creating a welcoming space for young readers, Mrs. Perdue brings joy and curiosity to the library every day. 📖✨ We also want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Blaker for all she does at the MS/HS level! Whether she’s helping students with research, recommending great reads, or providing a quiet space to study and explore, her support is felt throughout the building. 💼📘 Thank you, Mrs. Perdue and Mrs. Blaker, for being the heart of our libraries and champions for student learning! #ThankYouLibrarians #SchoolLibraryLove

🦕 Fossil Fun in 4th Grade! Mrs. Hartshorn’s 4th graders have been digging into their fossil unit — and today’s hands-on activity brought it all to life! Students explored the four types of fossils: 🔍 Trace 🔍 Mold 🔍 Cast 🔍 True Form They researched and recorded facts about each type, then used Model Magic and plastic dinosaurs to create their own visual models. It was a fun and interactive way to connect science and creativity — and the students absolutely loved it! Great job, young paleontologists!
