Today, we celebrate the incredible drivers who go the extra mile — literally — for West Liberty-Salem students! Not only do they safely get our Tigers to and from school each day, but this year alone, they’ve covered around 468 extracurricular trips (and counting)! That’s nearly 3 extra trips per day beyond their regular routes — all to ensure students don’t miss out on games, events, and experiences that make school life special.
👏 Their commitment, flexibility, and care are unmatched — and we couldn’t do it without them!

🎶 On May 6, the West Liberty-Salem Varsity Choir had the incredible opportunity to work with Dr. Adam Kluck from Wright State University during a special clinic! 🎤 Dr. Kluck shared expert tips and helped fine-tune their pieces just in time for their big performance.

Aiden Taylor has made the most of his time at West Liberty-Salem by getting involved in a variety of activities! 🐅 He played on the golf team ⛳, participated in one year of marching band 🎺 and FFA 🌾, and was a member of the Science Olympiad team 🔬.
After graduation, Aiden will attend Heidelberg University 🎓, where he plans to major in History 📚.

The WLS Varsity Girls Soccer Team is hosting a Kids Soccer Camp on May 13, 14, & 15 from 3:00–5:00 PM at the practice soccer field!
Kids will learn skills, have fun, and play alongside the WLS Girls Soccer Team, led by Coaches Mandy Lauck and Reece Allbaugh.
📌 Cost: $10/day or $25 for all three days
📌 Pick-up: 5:00 PM at the track
📌 Bring: Ball, shin guards, cleats, and water

Jacob Evans has been a dedicated student-athlete, making the most of his high school years and paving the way for his collegiate debut on the baseball field at Kaskaskia College! 🐅
In addition to playing four years of baseball ⚾, Jacob also competed in four years of football 🏈 and was an active member of Key Club for two years 🤝.
After graduation, Jacob will attend Kaskaskia College, where he will play baseball and major in Criminal Justice 👮♂️.

🌈🔧 STEM + Skittles = Sweet Success!
Our 4th graders had a blast this week thanks to a visit from Ohio Hi-Point Career Center! 🍬🛠️ Students put their engineering skills to the test by building Skittles towers—a colorful and creative challenge that introduced basic STEM principles in the sweetest way possible!
It was hands-on learning at its finest—full of teamwork, problem-solving, and of course... a few extra Skittles for “quality control.” 😄👏

Yesterday, West Liberty-Salem students from both Physics and Calculus classes took learning to new heights—literally—during their field trip to Cedar Point! Chaperoned by Mrs. Stephanie Spencer and Mrs. Brandie Roberts, students explored the thrill rides while applying classroom concepts in a real-world setting.
Cedar Point offers educational programs like Physics, Science & Math Days, providing students with hands-on experiences that align with STEM curricula.

Audrey has made the most of her time at West Liberty-Salem, excelling both on and off the field! She was a dedicated athlete in soccer and softball, while also actively participating in Spanish Club, Chess Club, Link Crew, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society.
After graduation, Audrey will attend Bowling Green State University, where she plans to major in Gerontology and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
