Last night, we celebrated Coach Dennis McIntosh on his 500th career win as a coach! What an incredible achievement!
Coach McIntosh was honored during the boys' varsity basketball game, where senior players Ava Johnson and Maddie McGill shared heartfelt sentiments about what this season, Coach, and this historic win mean to them as seniors who had the privilege of witnessing this special moment in his career.
Maddie also shared a fun fact—her mom played on Coach Mac’s first team back in 1994, and now Maddie gets to celebrate this monumental 500th win with him!
Congratulations, Coach! We’re proud to be a part of this unforgettable moment in your remarkable career! #500Wins #CoachMac #HistoricMoment #Tigers

It seems only fitting that on National Girls and Women in Sports Day the West Liberty-Salem Athletic Department and the West Liberty-Salem Athletic Association is celebrating the incredible achievement of our 2024 Track and Field 4x100 Relay Team for their State Championship title! The team of Tori Douthwaite, Delaney Jones, Gwen McCullough, and Chloe Griffith brought home the 2024 State Title and were recognized last night, during halftime of the varsity boys' basketball game. The team also holds the OHSAA DIII State Record! They were presented with a state title banner that will proudly hang in the gym and a commemorative shadow box from the Athletic Association to honor their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to these amazing athletes! Your accomplishment has made our school and community proud! #StateChampions #TrackAndField #WLSPride #GoTeam

Middle school students had a blast participating in Ninja Madness, a skills competition hosted by Ohio Hi-Point Career Center! Students put their hands to work on the Ninja Madness box, designed by Ohio Hi-Point Construction Trades students, testing their abilities in trade skills like drilling, electrical wiring, plumbing, welding, and more.
After having the opportunity to work with the Ninja Madness box here at school, several of our students were selected to compete against other schools at OHP today. We’re proud to congratulate Lakota Webb, our Champion, and Dawson Turner, our Runner-Up, for their outstanding performances! They were joined by the following top performers from WL-S Middle School, who also shone brightly during the Ninja Madness challenge:
Back row: Dawson Turner, Lakota Webb, Amaya Whitaker
Front row: Kenzie Underwood, Walker Williams, Rosie Sokolow
Congratulations to all of our students selected and to Lakota and Dawson! Great work, everyone!!

Tonight, Coach Dennis McIntosh achieved his 500th career win as the head coach of the High School girls basketball team. Since starting in 1994, Coach McIntosh has not only built an impressive legacy of victories, but he's also been a guiding force for countless athletes, teaching hard work, dedication, and the true meaning of teamwork.
500 wins is a testament to his passion, leadership, and commitment to our players, both on and off the court. We are so fortunate to have had him lead our team through the years, and tonight’s victory is a well-earned celebration of all his hard work. Congratulations, Coach!
The Tigers defeated Jonathan Alder 38-29 on the road. They return to action Thursday at home, taking on Anna.

Mrs. Orahood's fifth graders are hard at work on their science biome projects! 🌍🔬 From deserts to rainforests, they’ve been researching ecosystems, creating models, and presenting their findings. It’s amazing to see their creativity and teamwork in action. Pictured are Joel Heater and Jackson Barth with their Grassland biome. The biome is made up of all the things you would find in a prairie, from grass to animas, clouds and sunny blue sky! A few more projects are also pictured to display their hard work! #FifthGradeScience #BiomeProject #ScienceFun
