Mrs. Collins' second graders are writing personal narratives this week! They chose an idea and created stories with a catchy beginning, then added details, time, and dialogue. Next, they became student editors as they read their classmates stories, corrected spelling, grammar, and made content suggestions. Finally, their stories were "published", and it was time to share them with their friends!

'March Cereal Madness' dominos was a huge success this morning! Click on the video to watch as cereal box dominos fall through the hallways of the elementary, ending with the WL-S grand finale in the gym! More than 1400 boxes of cereal were donated by elementary students, families, and staff members to make this possible. Specials teachers planned and designed the route that the dominos would take, while fifth graders were integral in the set-up, tear down, and execution of the falling boxes. After the main event, students helped load volunteers' cars with all 1407 cereal boxes that will stock local food pantries in Champaign and Logan Counties. Thank you to everyone who donated, transported cereal, or helped in any way! You don't want to miss watching this!
