West Liberty-Salem and Triad High Schools presented a $2000 check to the Blessing Bags board during half time of last night’s game. Over the last two weeks, high school students and staff have joined Burg and Triad to contribute more than $4000 to the program. It was nice to join our neighboring county schools and positively impact a program that serves so many of our students experiencing hunger. We will continue to accept donations indefinitely so that Blessing Bags can continue serving our schools!

Any 4th-6th grade boy or girl interested in playing basketball, or any student In k-5th interested in Little Dribblers, can now register online at https://westlibertybasketball.demosphere-secure.com/_registration.
Registration is open and is online only for both Little Dribblers and youth basketball this year. Little Dribblers is coordinated by Kim Hollar and Youth Basketball by the West Liberty Youth Basketball Association.
We look forward to another great year of developing our young athletes! Go Tigers!

Students in Mrs. Mazza’s 7th grade Enrichment/Intervention classes are traveling around the world! Last month, they began organizing “suitcases” they will fill with discoveries they make while studying cultures around the world. The suitcases contain their passport where they will record the countries they visit, plane or train tickets for travel within the country, and souvenirs they select that represent important details about the country’s culture.
Mrs. Mazza shared, “ The point is to get them to learn a little something about other countries and to also have a traveling mindset in terms of preparing a passport, purchasing travel tickets (plane, train, boat) and looking for attractions while in these countries. I can’t wait to compare these with what the students will have finished at the end of the year!”
We can’t wait to see “All of the places they will go!”

October has been named, for the first time ever, Ohio School Safety Month. While safety has always been a top priority at WL-S, Ohio School Safety Month is meant to raise awareness of school safety programs like Stay Safe. Speak Up!
Stay Safe. Speak Up! Is a safety reporting system in place to help students and families report concerns to school officials. Concerns may include bullying, abuse, cyber threats, discrimination, fighting or weapon concerns, and suspicious behavior. Help us keep our building a safe place for students to learn and love.
Report concerns to 1-866-547-8362. And, as always, you can reach out to us directly, at any time at 937-465-1060.

We had a great turnout for sophomore lunch with family today! We have really enjoyed seeing so many family members taking time out of their busy schedules to join their students! We welcome our Freshman families on Wednesday, October 19th, at 12:05. See you there!
