The Village of West Liberty is looking for student volunteers to help with their Halloween Spooktacular, October 27th from 4:30-7:30. Students are needed to help decorate for the event, prepare pumpkins for carving, setting up and managing games and face painting. If you have a student who is interested in helping with this event, encourage them to sign up outside the HS Counseling Office.

The varsity football cheer team helped “Paint LOCO Pink” by decorating local store front windows and participating in the tree lighting ceremony in downtown West Liberty last evening. The county wide event, in partnership with the Logan County Cancer Society, officially proclaimed October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Paint LOCO Pink uses their fundraising efforts through sponsorships for events like this to honor, support and raises awareness though out communities in Logan County. Take a minute and drive through our town and see our cheer team’s awesome artwork this month!

School Activities and Awards: Show Choir, Musical, Link Crew, Key Club, Spanish Club, Calculus Club, and Flags/Color Guard
If I were principal for a day: If I were principal for a day, I would definitely just let it be a free day and everyone could hang out and have fun together.
Favorite school memory: my favorite school memory is probably homecoming week and all the fun events that go on leading up to the game.
People who have been an inspiration to me include:
My parents
Because: they have taught me to live life as the best version of myself and they provide good role models on a daily basis.
Lately, I have been reading:
The Shining by Stephen King
My advice to parents:
Check up on your kids; make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing, but also make sure that they are okay, too. Let them know that you are there for them.
Also, it’s okay to trust your kids.
My biggest regret:
I wish I would have joined more groups earlier in high school.
Next year I will be:
Next year I will be attending Wright State for a degree in secondary education.
Advisor: Greg Johnson, MS/HS Principal
SENIOR OF THE MONTH

• Basketball
• Track and Field
• Link Crew
• National Honor Society
• Chess Club
• Student Council
• Calculus Club
• 2 Years of Marching Band

If I were principal for a day:
I would discontinue all fourth period classes and replace them with a 50 minute nap time.
Favorite school memory:
Hangin Out with my friends at lunch, and going to Disney World with the Band Freshman year.
People who have been an inspiration to me include:
• My parents
• My grandparents
• My brother, Hayden
• My friends
• My teammates
• My coaches
• Zac Brown and his Band, through their song “Chicken Fried”
Because: These people are always there for me, especially when things seem to be at their worst. These people give me the strength to see the light at the end of the tunnel, they give me the strength to push through and push myself further than I ever thought possible. Because of these people I am where I am today, and for these people I am eternally grateful.
Lately, I have been reading:
Slaughter House Five
My advice to parents:
Teach your children how to be safe, responsible and respectful. But most importantly, teach them how to have fun, and let them have fun because that is what being a kid is all about.
My biggest regret:
Not keeping in touch with people, and sometimes not being completly considerate of other peoples circumstances and what is going on in their personal life.
Next year I will be:
A college student, working towards a degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
Advisor: Greg Johnson, MS/HS Principals

Fifth graders in Mrs. Orahood’s class completed their first lab of the year, “Drops on a Nickel”. This lab challenges students to see how many drops of liquid can fit on the top of a nickel. It also teaches students to use the steps of the scientific method, make a hypothesis, and to make small consistent drops while working on their technique with a partner. Great job, 5th graders!

It’s another great week to be a Tiger!

Additional seating to accommodate fans at tonight’s football game is available in what is traditionally our student section. Go Tigers!

Hello WL-S Families,
We have a couple of announcements prior to tonight's game verses Fairbanks. First, The Tiger Band is selling popular brands of Laundry Detergent/Pods, Fabric Softener, Dishwasher Pods, Body Wash, and trash bags in bulk. You can order yours tonight at the booth located inside the stadium. Cash and Check are accepted payments. Also, get your tiger gear at the WLSAA Tiger Store located next to the concession stand beside the home bleachers. Next, we want to remind families that students should not bring footballs or other items to play with during the game and should avoid rough horseplay that could cause someone to get hurt. Children should remain inside the stadium during the entire game. We encourage elementary students to sit with parents during the football game. Elementary students should not be left unattended and at no time should they be running/chasing inside of the track during the game. MS and HS students should enjoy the game and cheer loud for our Tigers from the students section. Lets have a great game and go Tigers!
Thank you,
Kraig Hissong

Little Tiger Cheerleaders will perform during second quarter of the home football game tonight! Attached are details for our Little Tigers and their families. Come out and support them and our cheerleaders after a week of hard work! Go Tigers!
