We are celebrating literacy, our ability to read and write, with a small book fair today! Students were able to select one book each from Usborne Book selections. They are excited to read them!

Literacy Week spirit is in full force! Today, our elementary students and teachers dressed like their favorite book characters. We had Harry, Potter, Thing 1 and Thing 2, The Cat in the Hat, and Three Little Pigs to name a few. Check out how creative they are! Tomorrow is Western Day and one day closer to Literacy Night! We hope you will join us!

Help us congratule Mrs. Annette Bragg, who is this week’s Educator of the Week!

Athletic Director Morgan Sullivan announced that the spring sports parents meeting is set for March 8th, 2023, at 6 PM. Athletes in grades 7-12, and their parents/family members, will learn important information about the upcoming season, our athletic training partnership with Memorial Health, and expectations for both fans and athletes. Please plan to attend!

The HS and MS Track and Field teams will host several home meets this season, and they need your help! Coaches are asking each parent to sign up for at least one meet that works with your schedule. Don't have an athlete on the team, but still enjoy coming to meets? You can sign up too! It takes a lot of volunteers for our meets to run smooth and successfully. Sign up at the link below. Hello WL-S families, this is Kraig Hissong, Superintendent. Today, shortly before noon, I was notified that we had lost water pressure in the building. This was due to a ruptured bladder in our pressure tank. A contractor was quickly notified and the tank was replaced by 12:45 PM and water pressure began to slowly restore. By 2:15 PM all pressure was back to normal. While the pressure was off or low, students were aloud to continue to use restrooms, that needed to do so, but were encouraged to wait if they could. We also brought in a Porta-jon for students to use and called to have several more delivered in case pressure was not restored before students left for the day. All students had access to hand sanitizer. Bottled water was available at request. We apologize for this unforeseen incident and greatly appreciate our student and staff for their patience and cooperation during this time. Times like these make you appreciate the basic necessities of life. At this time we do not expect this to impact school for tomorrow.
Thank you and have a good evening.
Kraig Hissong
