to West Liberty-Salem’s Middle School Science Olympiad team for great performance at the Piqua Regional tournament on Saturday, March 16th. Eleven team members won awards in nine different events. By finishing fifth in our region, our school has qualified for the State Science Olympiad tournament for the eighteenth year in a row. The State tournament will be held at The Ohio State University campus on Saturday, April 27th. Every day this week, HS STUDENTS can donate cash or check, and whichever grade donates the most gets a sweet treat after Spring break! The competition starts today and ends on Friday! Would you believe us if we told you there are high school kids who were willing to wake up as early as 3:30-4:00 am on Saturdays to take science test and compete with devices they have built for up to 6 hours during that day? Well, they do... AND the hard work paid off for the WLS high school Science Olympiad today. There were only 3 members of our 11 member team pictured because 8 of them left early to participate in the musical later that evening! Congratulations to our HS Science Olympiad team who cam in 4th place overall in their weekend competition. The team is going to state for the second year in a row!!! West Liberty-Salem Food Service Department is participating in National School Breakfast week by encouraging students to try school breakfast and providing fun facts about the benefits of choosing healthy breakfast options that keep their tummies full and their brains fueled for learning! Students who try school breakfast have been entered in fun drawings and awarded small prizes. Students have had a lot of fun with this! Thirty-eight seniors were honored at the 48th annual Bellefontaine Rotary Club Honors Night on Monday, March 11th, at Bellefontaine High School. Nearly 200 students in and around Logan County who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during their high school career were honored. Students invited to attend the banquet are also eligible to apply for one of seven $1000 scholarships. Carter Titus was selected from West Liberty-Salem and awarded a $1000 scholarship. Congratulations, Carter and the 38 seniors invited to attend!
