
Congratulations to senior Gabe McGill! Gabe has enlisted with the Ohio National Guard with a deferred start at Bowling Green State University where he plans to major in Criminal Justice.


Today, our 5th graders enjoyed their annual play day at Lions Park. The days was complete with a picnic lunch and concessions thanks to the Lions Club. Everyone had a great time!

Congratulations to this year's elementary Gold Card grand prize winners! At the end of each school year, Mr. Hollar and Mr. McGill draw names for several grand prizes from the gold cards students turn in all year! This year, we did thing a little different. Instead of giving away just bikes, students get their choice of several different prizes! They can choose from popular summer attractions, a Reds game, a new bike, and more! Our book buddies had their end of the year celebration today complete with popsicles and fun time outside! Fourth graders assist first graders in reading related activities all year long. The activities help strengthen the first graders ability and love for reading, while helping fourth graders develop their leadership skills! All eight classes were able to join in the celebration today! It was a great time for all!




The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field team won its second consecutive DIII Southwest District championship Saturday at Graham High School. The top four individuals in each event qualified for next week's DIII Southwest Regional meet at Troy.

Delaney Jones powered the Tigers with three individual first place finishes in the 100 Meter Dash (12.15-District record), 200 Meter Dash (25.13-District record and school record) and Long Jump (16'7.25). Jones also ran on the first place 4x100 Meter Relay with Tori Douthwaite, Gwen McCullough and Chloe Griffith. The team also set a new district record (49.89).
Second place finishes for WLS included Sophia Hardwick in the 100 Meter Hurdles (16.31) and 300 Meter Hurdles (47.53) and Malia Miller in the 1600 Meter Run (5:24.53).
Third place finished included Claire Longshore in the 100 Meter Hurdles (16.41) and 300 Meter Hurdles (48.74), Ashley Yoder in the 1600 Meter Run (5:29.96), Addison McAuley in the 800 Meter Run (2:26.08), Malia Miller in the 3200 Meter Run (11:58.97) and the 4x200 Meter Relay team of Tori Douthwaite, Mallory Bostick, Claire Longshore and Gwen McCullough (1:49.97).
Rounding out the Regional qualifiers for the Tigers in fourth place were Chloe Griffith in the 100 Meter Dash (12.93) and Mallory Bostick in the 400 Meter Dash (1:01.78).
Scorers for WLS included the 4x400 Meter Relay team of Ashley Yoder, Gwen McCullough, Claire Longshore and Mallory Bostick 5th place (4:12.69), Elise Longshore Pole Vault (9'0) 5th place, Tori Douthwaite Pole Vault 6th Place (8'6) and 200 Meter Dash 7th place (28.27), Taylor Kennedy 6th Place 3200 Meter Run (13:13.14), Sophia Hardwick 7th Place Discus (95'0), Gwen McCullough 800 Meter Run 8th Place (2:38.55).
The Tigers will compete at the DIII Southwest Regional Meet on Wednesday, May 22nd and Friday, May 24th at Troy Stadium.

Please join us in celebrating the Class of 2024 in a graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 26th, at 7:00 pm. The ceremony will be held at Tiger Stadium or in the gym in case of inclement weather.

The sophomore class had their annual pizza and ice cream lunch outside yesterday! Perfect weather made for a perfect way to end Sophomore year!





Fifth graders in Mrs. Orahood and Sertell's classes are dressed to impress for FFA day!


FFA continued their week of celebrating the chapter with the annual senior cookout today. Seniors were treated to a great lunch and joined by fellow chapter members for a final farewell on their last day. Congratulations, seniors!


Mrs. Stayrook's class had fun wrapping up our maps/landforms unit by making landform cookies. We used different candies to resemble mountains, hills, the ocean, and an island. This is always a tasty and fun class favorite!





Help our Ag Science students continue to celebrate FFA with FFA day tomorrow, May 17th! Elementary and Middle School students are invited to dress up to represent FFA. They can dress in their country best, represent their love for trucks and tractors with their favorite shirt, or dress in blue and gold, the official colors of FFA.

The Ohio Heritage Conference has announced the OHC North Baseball All Conference Team and OHC North Player of the Year.
Senior Eli Allen clenched the Player of the Year title! Allen pitched a total of 35 innings this season, had a 5-0 record, and an impressive 56 strikeouts. Allen will continue to play baseball at the University of Rio Grande. Congratulations, Eli!
For the Tigers, Eli Allen and Jake Evans were named 1st team, Isaiah Reames and Isaac Sertell were named to 2nd team, and Caleb Hershberger was an Honorable Mention.
