Hello, This is Kraig Hissong, Superintendent. Due to very cold temperatures forcasted for Tuesday and Wednesday, WL-S will be on a 2-hour delay for both Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21st and 22nd. This will allow the district time to ensure busses are running and the building has heat. Please plan accordingly and make sure that your children are dressed for the cold conditions. School will start at 9:40 for MS and HS and 9:45 for the elementary for both Tuesday and Wednesday. Thank you and Go Buckeyes!

The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field state champion 4x100 Meter Relay team will be recognized at the high school boys basketball game with a banner raising ceremony on Tuesday, February 4th. The team of Tori Douthwaite, Delaney Jones, Gwen McCullough and Chloe Griffith had a stellar 2024 season, winning the Ohio Heritage Conference, DIII Southwest District, Southwest Regional and State titles. The quartet also set a new DIII State Record with a blistering 48.67 at the Regional championships. "I'm so proud of these young woman and their accomplishments, said WLS retired head coach, Ann Vogel. "We had a season of ups and downs, and this team's commitment and resilience through the tough times are a testament to what can happen if you put in the work and believe in yourself. I hope the state championship banners in our gym inspire young athletes at West Liberty-Salem to pursue their passions and know that if they put in the work they can be state champions, too."
