🧡🐾 The Tiger Table Has Found Its Home! 🐾🧡

We’re thrilled to share that The Tiger Table — our community cabinet food pantry — is now in its permanent home! You’ll find it right in the heart of the Village, next to the branch library, where it’s easily accessible to anyone in need.

This week, the cabinet is freshly stocked with pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned veggies, snacks, soap, toothpaste, and more! 🍝🧼🪥

The Tiger Table was created by our West Liberty-Salem High School Cheer Team as a way to help minimize hunger and maximize hope across our community. 💛

If you’d like to help us keep it stocked, donations can be made at school or at one of our amazing local partners: Subway, TGH, or Sweetie Pies.

Take what you need. Leave what you can. Because at The Tiger Table, everyone has a seat. 🧺✨

🌬️🔬 Middle School Teachers Take Learning to New Heights! 🔬🌬️

Our Middle School Math and Science teachers had an incredible opportunity to visit the HALO Wind Tunnel on Friday, October 31st! They toured the state-of-the-art facility and learned about the intricate process of testing vehicle aerodynamics and acoustical engineering.

The visit offered a fascinating look at how math and science concepts are applied in real-world engineering — and the team is already planning a virtual tour with HALO engineers for students as part of an upcoming distance learning experience. 🧠💡

📸 The photo shows our teachers standing in front of the massive wind tunnel fan — an impressive display of engineering at its finest!

Middle School Principal Mr. Andy McGill shared,

“This experience was a powerful reminder that what we teach in the classroom has real-world applications. We’re excited to bring these connections back to our students and inspire them to see the possibilities that math and science can create.”

➗🎯 Fifth Grade is Expressing Their Math! 🎯➗

Mrs. Peterson's fifth graders are taking math to the next level and having fun while doing it! Students practiced writing and interpreting equations with a lively game of Headbandz, turning math class into an exciting challenge of quick thinking and problem-solving. 🧠✨

What better way to “express” math than with laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition? These Tigers are proving that learning can be both educational and fun! 🧡🐾🖤

🎃🧠 STEM + Pumpkins = Smart & Sweet Learning! 🧠🎃

Mrs. Stayrook’s first graders put their engineering skills to the test last week with a fun and tasty STEM challenge! Working with a partner, students were given toothpicks and gummy pumpkins and tasked with building the tallest free-standing tower possible. 🏗️✨

Through lots of trial, teamwork, and creativity, these young scientists quickly discovered that a strong base is key to keeping their towers standing tall! 💪🎃

We love seeing our Tigers think critically, experiment, and have fun while learning — these first graders are definitely future engineers in the making! 🧡🐾🖤

Special Education Roundtable Discussion

When: Wednesday, November 12th, from 6 PM to 7 PM

Where: West Liberty-Salem MS/HS Media Center

Purpose: The Board of Education and administration of West Liberty-Salem are inviting parents for a meeting to discuss services that our low-incident student population receives. Many of the services provided are done in partnership with Educational Service Centers, Boards of DD, State agencies, or other third-party providers. Decisions regarding Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) are made individually for each student, with careful consideration of the resources and support available to best meet their instructional and learning goals. We would appreciate input from parents regarding services, placements, and instruction your children receive and ideas on items that the district could consider in the future. We invite you to join us as we explore ways to enhance the quality and delivery of instruction for our students. To RSVP, please contact Allison Wygal at awygal@wlstigers.org or call (937) 465-1075 ext. 118.
