West Liberty-Salem fifth graders will be well represented in the June 15th edition of the Bellefontaine Examiner when they will feature winning ads from Alissa Dixon, Autumn Kessler, Mason Wallace, Addison Brannon, Olivia Waibel, Allison Miller, Nate Adams, Braxton Catron, Jacob Gilley, Sarah Monroe, Mills Lapp, Amelia Miller, Jaylynn Martin, Jessie Spencer, Bella Johnson, Lilly Yeater, Walker Williams, Isabella Semaan, and Hayden Watkins. Each winner will receive a $10.00 gift card to a locally owned Logan County business on behalf of The Examiner. Great job, fifth grade!

Fifth Graders in Mrs. Peterson's math classes planned and held a lemonade stand as a culminating activity for a math project this quarter! Last week, they sold their lemonade at recess for 25 cents a cup and raised $161.85. Students selected a charity and decided that all proceeds would support Barely Used Pets in Urbana. Thank you to everyone who made generous donations to support our students and a local charity!

Mrs. Dallas invited local Auctioneer Todd Woodruff to auction off classroom items that she no longer needs. Items included school supplies, backpacks, completed projects, and more! Students were given counting cubes to bid on items that were given a designated "sale price" ahead of the auction. Students loved learning the bidding process and enjoyed a little friendly auction competition with their friends. They used their addition and subtraction skills to ensure they had enough cubes for the items they wanted. Thank you, Mr. Woodruff, for creating a fun experience!

A morning walk is always a great way to start your day! Mrs. Smith's class is taking advantage of the beautiful weather during their last days of school!

In first grade, students create a time capsule filled with favorite memories of who they were when just beginning their journey at WL-S. Today, they opened them. They found small toys, pictures they drew, a note to their future self, and notes and pictures from their family. Time capsules will come home with them today, so be sure to revisit that little one who is now your graduate!

A long standing senior tradition at West Liberty-Salem is painting blocks in the HS science wing. Blocks are painted during seniors last weeks of school and remain in the hall displaying their message for the next full school year. We have some talented artists in the Class of 2023!

Seniors enjoyed a special and final WL-S lunch with their family event today. The weather was beautiful for courtyard games like Spikeball and Cornhole, and just spending time with friends.
What a great turnout for a great day!
