Do you ever wonder what happens during Professional Development time? This past Friday High School teachers met to discuss how they can assist all students to achieve high-level learning. What is working? What’s not working? Can they offer any personal teaching experiences that may assist another student? They also discussed ‘rigor’ in the classroom and divided it out into 4 steps. Those steps include student/teacher relationships, differentiation, or considering each unique students way of learning, expectations and options for each students learning style. In Middle School they had a follow up meeting with the ESC to discuss testing and benchmark data. Elementary met in grade level teams to determine what the intervention groups will be and what skills we will be working on when we return from break. 3rd-5th grade science teachers will be working on some new material that they learned at a seminar last week, and 5th grade teachers will be working on state testing data. It was a productive 2-hour delay, and we are thankful for the time to collaborate as a team to support our students educational experience.
