The 7th grade Math-8 students worked on a graphing review activity after finishing their graphing unit that included transformations and graphing linear equations. Students did AMAZING! Like some patchwork quilts, each grid was completed by a different student in the class. I think they enjoyed it, as much as Mrs. Mazza had fun watching them create it!

Caizen Anders, pictured right, is this year's elementary Spelling Bee Champion! His brother, Ozzy Anders, pictured left, was runner up. Top spellers from fourth and fifth grade classes participated in the spelling bee earlier this week. Spellers went for a total of 67 rounds, while Anders and his brother went back and forth for 53 of those. Caizen will take an online test in February that will determine his placement in the State Spelling Bee this Spring. Congratulations to our champion Caizen, runner up Ozzy, and all other particpants!

Our first graders went on a field trip to the Ohio Theatre to see the holiday classic, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. They enjoyed lunch at McDonald's and experienced the beauty of both the theatre and the ballet as a class. Many students experienced the show for the first time. West Liberty-Salem has enjoyed sharing this beloved tradition with students for many years.
