West Liberty-Salem Quick Recall ended their season 4th overall after placing 5th in their most recent tournament. The team had stellar performances from Quentin Rudolph and Abigail Miller as two of this year's top scorers. Quick Recall is gaining momentum after seeing an increase in members this year! Many new members are underclassmen, with great performances from younger players like Brady Kauffman and new commers Avi Lehman, Zoe Carter, and Gavyn Greenhill. The team is looking forward to next year’s season as they can only improve as they continue to learn and expand their knowledge and understanding of the world.
Quick Recall also mentioned that they really enjoyed their outings at Cane's after the matches where they received free merch for being part of a school event!

High School Student Council sponsored a fun evening for the high school students after Saturday evening's home basketball game. The event was called, "Games after the Game" where more than 60 high school students stayed to play games like 9-Square, cards, and cornhole. We had music, refreshments that included pizza, popcorn, hotdogs and amazing snow cones! This was the second year that they sponsored this event for students and the students enjoyed hanging out with friends after our OHC Co-Champs beat Graham!

Congratulations to Tiger senior Claire Longshore for setting a new school record in the 60 Meter Hurdles (10.69) at Otterbein. Claire also holds the outdoor school record in the 100 Meter Hurdles (outdoor).

Indoor track members Elise Longshore (10’2) and Tori Douthwaite (9’2) both secured career PR’s in pole vault today at Otterbein University. Go Tigers!

West Liberty-Salem selected 22 Fine Arts students to attend the Ohio Heritage Conference Fine Arts Festival at First Christian Church in Springfield, Ohio on February 6, 2024. The annual event allows students across our conference to collaborate and showcase their talents in a shared love for the arts. Mr. Paul Waibel, Mr. Jakob Schaufelberger, Mrs. June Seymour, and High School Principal Greg Johnson joined our students for the all-day event.
More than 200 area students were selected by their art and music teachers based on their excellence and consistency in their area of study. The day included workshops with guest conductors, artists and peers from Cedarville, Fairbanks, Greenview, Madison Plains, Mechanicsburg, Northeastern, Southeastern, Triad and West Jefferson. Art students spent the day preparing for an evening showcase featuring a collaborative composite project, along with their personal artwork during intermission of the Honors Choir and Band Showcase. Choir and band students closed out the day with a concert featuring four pieces selected and directed by a local master director/conductor. It is an honor for students selected for the opportunity to work with collegiate conductors and other students who excel in the fine arts. The following WL-S students were selected:

Happy National School Counseling Week to our fantastic school counselors! They handle the big challenges, the small tears, and are always ready to be a listening ear to all who come through their doors. They help navigate our students differing academic journeys, promote self-assurance, and help build servant leaders in our community. THANK YOU for all you do for our students, staff, and the West Liberty-Salem community!
