Before stepping into their first cooking lab, our students learned just how important proper handwashing really is using the Glo Germ lesson. ✨
Some were surprised to see that they weren’t washing as thoroughly as they thought, while many others passed the UV light inspection with flying colors! 🙌
A great (and eye-opening!) reminder that clean hands are the first ingredient in safe cooking. 🧡 #TigerPride #LifeSkills #CookingLab

The West Liberty-Salem FFA Soil Judging Team recently participated in the District 6 Soil Judging Contest! 👩🌾👨🌾
This hands-on competition challenges students to apply their knowledge of soil science by evaluating soil properties, identifying land uses, and practicing conservation measures. It’s a great opportunity for our Tigers to put classroom learning into real-world practice while building teamwork and leadership skills.
Way to represent WL-S FFA! 🧡

The West Liberty-Salem Athletic Hall of Fame proudly recognizes the 1978 and 1979 Men’s Cross Country Teams, two groups of athletes whose hard work and accomplishments left an indelible mark on Tiger history.
These teams demonstrated the very best of Tiger athletics—discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. Their performances elevated the WL-S cross country program to statewide recognition and set a standard of excellence that future generations would strive to follow.
More than just the victories, these teams built a culture of camaraderie and resilience, inspiring one another and those who came after them. Their legacy has been carried on through decades of Tiger runners, who still look back to these squads as examples of what it means to compete with heart.
✨ The members of the 1978 and 1979 Men’s Cross Country Teams will be honored with the 2025 Hall of Fame Class at the home varsity football game on Friday, October 10th vs. Triad, with the formal Induction Ceremony and Banquet on Saturday, October 11th at Mac-O-Chee Castle in West Liberty. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased at Civista Bank in West Liberty, at West Liberty-Salem from 8-3:00 in the Central Office, or by calling 937-465-1140 to reserve your tickets.

We are so grateful for our School Resource Officer, Deputy Brad Jarzab, who was recently featured in Peak of Ohio’s “Beyond the Badge” article.
Deputy Jarzab has served as WL-S’s SRO since 2017, and his impact goes far beyond safety. From greeting students in the halls, joining them at lunch, checking doors, and monitoring security, to being a mentor, listener, and trusted role model—he is a constant positive presence for our Tigers.
“What makes this job so rewarding is the chance to watch students grow and succeed… whether in sports, academics, or personal growth.” – Deputy Jarzab
Thank you, Deputy J, for the lasting difference you make every day at WL-S! 🧡
