Lydia Moell, track and field stand out, signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her pole vaulting career at West Virginia University this fall. Moell, who was part of the 2019 State Champion Track and Field Team, helped her team secure the title when she vaulted an impressive 12’2”, and placed 4th, individually, in division III. Join us for a pre-holiday bake sale benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on Tuesday, November 26th. Donations will be accepted and sales will go directly to the JDRF. Items will be set up in the elementary entry way during pick up and drop off for purchase! Come and get your holiday goodies, and give to a great cause! Miss Kale’s fourth graders have been actively working on making quicker and quieter hallway transitions and being more focused and productive during quiet work time. As a reward for doing their Tiger best they got to eat lunch in their class room and try out the newest Disney Plus App for some movie time! They must be in the holiday spirit because they chose Noelle, a Christmas movie about Kris Kringle’s daughter and her desire to do something as ‘important’ as her dad and her brother Nick. Students were excited to be rewarded for achieving their goal, and it’s always fun for them to eat in their classroom!

Due to the WL-S boys football team advancing in the tournament, the first girls basketball game- WLS hosting Fairbanks, originally scheduled for Nov 23rd, will now be moved to Nov 22nd. WLS vs Fairbanks, Nov 22nd- 6:00 JV start with varsity to follow.

The UNOH softball program announced its 2020 varsity signing class at a halftime ceremony at the UNOH men’s basketball game on Saturday afternoon. The class boasts six stand out prep athletes including Madison Amstutz, Gabrielle Desimone, Gianna Desimone, Haylie Hamons, Carlie Hanes and Kayle Henderson. “We are thrilled with the signing of these outstanding student athletes; UNOH softball is continuing to attract top level athletes from the midwest region and it is a testament to the culture that has been established by our current and past players. All of these signees are highly decorated prep athletes and their commitment to UNOH has been evident right from the beginning. We talk a lot in our program about winning at everything, softball, school, campus life, etc and these six signees will fit right into this goal that our program has set for itself.” Head Coach Tracy Coffman Kayle Henderson (C ) from West Liberty Salem High School in Bellefontaine, Ohio was a regional runner up in 2019 batting .431 with 35 RBIs. She is a 4 year letter winner, MVP and team hustle award winner. She is in the top of her class academically. She is the daughter of Bill and Shannon Henderson and plans of major in Business Administration. “Kayle is a polished, athletic and energetic catcher. I love the way she commands the field and manages her pitching staff. I felt right away she was the perfect fit for what we ask of our players behind the plate. Her enthusiasm for UNOH and our program was evident right from the start and we are very excited to have such a strong player excited to be a Racer.” “This class will come in after we graduate our most decorated class in Racer softball history, the class of 2016. However I am very confident that we have assembled a talented, athletic and special group here in 2020. The great part about where we are is that all of these signees are coming in knowing what we believe in and what our program expects of them on and off the field and we can thank so many great Racers who have set and passed down the precedent. Our program has grown and strengthened to the point where we are saying the same things yearly about our varsity recruiting class and this year is no different. This is another class that is a great example of the type of high academic, high level student athletes that UNOH athletics and all of the university’s offerings are able to attract. We are excited to have them here to carry on what is becoming a strong Racer softball tradition.” Tracy Coffman

8th Grader, Aubree Timmons, competed in the Ohio Regional NASA Powerlifting Competition on November 9th, in Springfield, Ohio. Timmons, who is trained by her father Greg Timmons, won first place in squats with 248 pounds in her weight and age class! Congratulations, Aubree!!
