Today, our senior shoutouts go out to Clay LeVan, Sailor LeVan, Hannah Lewis, and Isaac Lee! Congratulations to four awesome seniors!!!

Mr. Greg Johnson has released the following Press Release regarding graduation plans for our 2020 graduates. West Liberty-Salem has announced their graduation plans for the Class of 2020. After much thought and consideration, the plans that we have in place reflect the following objectives: Plan an event that properly recognizes the accomplishments of the Class of 2020, while also satisfying the overwhelming desire of the graduates to have an in-person event that includes the graduates as well as faculty, family and guests. Plan an event that is in-line with COVID-19 related restrictions and recommendations and has the safety of all graduates and guests in mind. In-Person Graduation Ceremony on July 25th at 8:00pm. An In-Person Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th at 8:00pm at Tiger Stadium on the West Liberty-Salem campus. We plan to have all graduates seated on the football field with school staff and guests in the bleachers. The school will respect the mass gathering restrictions and social distancing requirements that are in effect at the time and will revise the graduation plan as necessary. The rain date will be Sunday, July 26th at 8:00pm. If graduation cannot be held July 25th or 26th due to weather or COVID-19 related restrictions, then graduation will become a virtual event. More details will be shared in early July. Diploma Pick-Up on May 24th from Noon-5:00pm. West Liberty-Salem will also hold a Diploma Pick-Up Event for all graduates on Sunday, May 24th, from Noon-5:00pm. This will be a drive-thru event where students will be able to cross the stage, receive their diploma and have pictures taken. Students will have an appointed time and will be able to invite a limited number of guests. Details of this event have been communicated directly to graduates and parents. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to adjust in very uncertain times.

Hello, this is Mrs. Cotrell from WL-S. I've received some questions about the availability of the Summer Bridge workbooks that can typically be ordered before summer break each year. Although these cannot be ordered and delivered to the school this year, The Fun Company in Bellefontaine has Summer Bridge and Brain Quest workbooks available for in store purchase Mon-Sun from 10am-6pm if you are interested.

Attention, golfers: We are excited to start our 2020 West Liberty-Salem Golf Season this fall. We currently have several Varsity spots available for the golf team. Anyone interested in the WLS High School Cheerleading Program: Students who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2020/2021 School year, interested in participating in the WLS High School Cheer program will need to contact High School Cheer Coach, Kim Long by Friday, May 29. Savannah Weaver and Cade Clerico were recently awarded the 2019/20 “That Tiger” award by the Marchal family in honor of their son and brother, Devin. Devin, a senior this year at WL-S, passed away in 2018 as the result of an automobile accident. This senior award, in his honor, recognizes one boy and girl from the senior class who encompass the many characteristics of the Boy Scout code where Devin was an Eagle Scout. Weaver and Clerico were selected for the award based on nominations from their fellow classmates and teachers. They were asked to select students who are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, brave, cheerful and revert. Both Weaver and Clerico received gifts, a very appropriately masked Tiger, and their certificate from the Marchal family in a brief private ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Congratulations to both Savannah Weaver and Cade Clerico for being “That Tiger” and to the Marchal family for your continued support of our students in Devin’s memory and honor.
