OHC

West Liberty-Salem selected 22 Fine Arts students to attend the OHC Fine Arts Festival at First Christian Church in Springfield, Ohio on March 8, 2022.  The event was organized and opened by the Greenview High School principal and music director.  Mr. Paul Waibel, Mr. Stephen Fannin, Mrs. June Seymour, and Superintendent Kraig Hissong joined our students for the all-day event.

More than 200 area students were selected by their art and music teachers based on their excellence and consistency in their area of study. The day included workshops with guest conductors, artists and peers from Cedarville, Fairbanks, Greenview, Madison Plains, Mechanicsburg, Northeastern, Southeastern, Triad and West Jefferson.  Art students prepared for an evening showcase featuring their work during intermission of the Honors Choir and Band Showcase. Choir and band students closed out the day with a concert featuring four pieces selected and directed by Dr. James Tipps, Conductor of the Men’s Chorale at Wright State University and Dr. Gretchen McNamara, Lecturer of Trombone and Music Education at Wright State University.  It is an honor for students selected for the opportunity to work with collegiate conductors and other students who excel in the fine arts.  The following WL-S students were selected:
