West Liberty-Salem Local Schools proudly honored the Class of 2025 during its annual Commencement Ceremony held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Family, faculty, and community members gathered to recognize the accomplishments and future aspirations of this exceptional group of students.

The ceremony opened with the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” performed by the West Liberty-Salem Band, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. Greg Johnson, High School Principal. Class Officer Taran Logwood offered a student welcome, and Class Officer Quentin Rudolph led the Pledge of Allegiance and introduced special guests.

Mrs. Molly Smith, High School Counselor, recognized top-performing seniors, followed by a musical performance of “Aladdin Medley” by the WL-S Band, arranged by Paul Jennings.

Dr. Johnson then honored Salutatorian Aaron Campbell, who delivered remarks reflecting on perseverance and gratitude. The five Co-Valedictorians each presented a short speech based on individual themes:

  • Akira Whitman“Dare”

  • Daniel Neer“Resilience”

  • Eli Adkins“Equipped”

  • Craig Stanford“Attitude”

  • Isabella Hardwick“Momentum”

The WL-S Choir gave a moving performance of “A Tapestry of Music” by Sherry Blevins. Mrs. Smith also led the Special Recognitions segment before Dr. Johnson delivered an address to the graduates.

Diplomas were presented by Dr. Greg Johnson, Superintendent Kraig Hissong, and Board of Education President Pat Adams.

Class Officer Ava Johnson delivered the Closing Address, followed by the Moving of the Tassel, led by Paige Williams. The event concluded with a recessional to “Sine Nomine”, performed by the WL-S Band and arranged by Ed Huckeby.

The Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of academic achievement, school spirit, and community impact. West Liberty-Salem Local Schools congratulates its newest graduates and wishes them continued success in the next chapter of their lives.
