OPEN ENROLLMENT PROCESS GRADES 1-12

If you do not reside in the West Liberty-Salem School District and would like your child to attend WL-S, you may apply for Open Enrollment from May 1 - June 1 each year, prior to the school year in which they would attend.  An Open Enrollment approval is valid for one school year at a time. You will need to read the West Liberty-Salem Board Policy for Inter-District Open Enrollment before submitting your application. 

Every year on May 1st, the West Liberty-Salem Open Enrollment Application for the upcoming school year will be posted on the school website under ‘FORMS’. The application will be removed from the website on June 1st at the 4:00pm deadline.  If you prefer, you may also pick up an application at West Liberty-Salem or request us to mail one to you.  Please submit one application per student and return it by 4:00pm on June 1 in one of the following ways:

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email from wlsregistration@wlstigers.org. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 2 business days, please contact the EMIS Coordinator at (937) 465-1136 to ensure that your application has been received.  

Decisions for Open Enrollment will be made, and you will receive an email by July 1 notifying if your student has been accepted or denied Open Enrollment.  (If your student is denied, you will also receive a letter in the standard US mail, in addition to the email.)

KINDERGARTEN OPEN ENROLLMENT

Open Enrollment is handled differently than grades 1-12.  Kindergarten students should be signed up for the Kindergarten screening day, which typically occurs in June. After signing up for screening, Mrs. Alysson Cotrell will email Kindergarten Registration forms to you, including the Open Enrollment Application.  Please complete all forms and return to Mrs. Cotrell.  We prefer to have the Open Enrollment Application for Kindergarten students prior to the screening date.  If you have students in grades 1-12, please wait to send their applications in until May 1st.  Contact Mrs. Alysson Cotrell at (937) 465-1060, Ext. 101 or alcotrell@wlstigers.org with any questions pertaining to Kindergarten screening.

Please also attend Kindergarten Screening in your district of residence since we have a limited number of Open Enrollment spots available each year.
