Big Organge Girls Cross Country Earn Runner Up at State Championship

The West Liberty-Salem girls cross country team earned its program's first podium finish as runner up in the DIII OHSAA State Cross Country Championships. Minster won the meet with 79 points, and WLS held off Fort Loramie by one point to secure second place. Team Scores (Top 10): 1st Minster 78, 2nd WLS 89, 3rd Fort Loramie 90, 4th Mount Gilead 160, 5th Liberty Center 161, 6th Centerburg 222, 7th McDonald 258, 8th Gilmour Academy 259, 9th Archbold 279, 10th Maplewood 282. Three Big Orange runners earned All-Ohio honors with Megan Adams placing third 18:42.3, Katelyn Stapleton 19th 19:13.5 and Grace Adams 30th 19:30.5. Also placing for WLS were Madison Bahan 52nd 20:08.6, Lydia Moell 68th 20:26.9, Mandilyn Weaver 124th 21:48.9 and Maggie Davis 21:54.8. The Big Orange finishes the season with a record of 159-3.
