Key Club Meetings Begin With New Year of Philanthropy

High School Counselor, Molly Smith, held the first Key Club meeting in over six months last week.  She used the time to discuss what this year will look like with returning Key Club members and gave freshmen their first opportunity to learn about, and join, the organization.

Key Club is an organization with global reach, teaching students “how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism.” (Keyclub.org). High School organizations partner with the local Kiwanis club to complete acts of service in their community.  In recent years, our students have participated in clean up at Lions Park, planted flowers and lined ball fields at Kingscreek, landscaped Adriel’s campus, and participate in local food drives.  This leadership opportunity helps foster the skill set to run meetings, plan and execute projects and hold elected positions.

No doubt, there was a fantastic turnout of students eager to get back to serving their community, and new students who are ready to feed their philanthropic aspirations.  Stay tuned for Key Club projects throughout the year!
