West Liberty-Salem was pleased to welcome back graduates of the 2017 and 2018 classes for lunch prior to the holiday break. With the help of grant funding from MHDAS, hard work from the KEY Club, and the High School Counseling department, Alumni were treated to a special, catered Chipotle lunch and new WL-S swag. The district works hard to provide wellness services to our students on campus daily but ensuring our past students still feel the support and community is a vital part of overall student success. Their visit wasn’t all play, however. Students designed a small survey of questions pertaining to life after graduation and advice they would offer to our upcoming graduating class. Molly Smith, High School Counselor, said 40 students attended the lunch and several teachers and staff stopped by to visit. “It is our hope to continue to offer such an opportunity to our future graduates,” Smith said, citing that students really enjoyed the chance to come back and reconnect.
