State Track and Field Results
The West Liberty Salem girls track and field team took home two third places from the D3 state track and field meet with Meghan Vogel in the 1600 meter run and the 4x100 relay team of Michaela Rausch, Abigail Rabenstein, Megan Etgen and Morgan Freyhof.
The WLS Tigers Boys 4x400 relay team of Ross Hickenbottom, Taylor Cordell, Kelvin Shank, and Conner Karg grabbed 6th place in a personal best time of 3:24.2.
Academic All-Ohio Team
Five West Liberty Salem track and field athletes were recently named to the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Academic All-Ohio team. To be eligible, athletes must be at least a sophomore, have a minimum 3.5 grade point average and qualify for the state track and field meet. The WLS Academic All-Ohio recipients are seniors Megan Etgen, Shawnda Henault, Jasmine Smith, Meghan Vogel and sophomore Abigail Rabenstein.Henault and Smith have received Academic All-Ohio five times in their careers, three times in cross country and two times in track and field. Vogel has received the honor six times in her career, three in cross country and three in track and field.
