Attention Juniors: Please plan to attend the college planning night tonight in the WLS cafetorium from 6:30-8:00 PM. Representatives from Clark State, UU and Ohio State will be here to answer questions and provide an overview for students interested in attending a 2 or 4 yr college. Stop in Guidance if you need more information.
Mandatory high school girls and boys track and field practice starts today from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. You must have a current physical to participate. Come prepared to practice outside.
Varsity and JV Basketball Cheerleaders can turn in their uniforms either
today, at 4:45 prior to tryouts or Wednesday right after school in small gym. Any questions, please contact Coach Barger.
Tonight’s Cinderella practice for Act I is only for scene 1. No one else will need to be there.
Seniors: The Jostens representative will be here to deliver your Graduation supplies on Wednesday, during lunch. Your order must be paid in full before we can deliver it. Jostens only accepts cash or money orders on delivery day. No checks will be accepted. Extra announcements will be available on a first come, first serve basis for $1.25 each.
Class Ring service day: The Jostens representative will be here to repair your class ring on Wednesday during lunch. If you want to order a class ring, bring a $50 deposit and see the representative for assistance. Extra packets are available in the office.
Attention Seniors: Have you played a school sport since 7th grade? Do you intend to play sports at the college level? Do you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher? Do you need money for college? If you answered “yes” to the above questions, please stop by the Guidance Office and pick up the “Start to Finish Scholarship.” The deadline is April 9.
Mr. Spencer and all the Science Olympiad coaches would like to thank everyone involved in Saturday’s second annual West Liberty-Salem Science Olympiad Invitational. Our tournament was an overwhelming success as it hosted over 1000 students, parents, and community members from four different states. Our team had another incredible outing on this day. Twenty-six team members won awards in twenty of the twenty-three possible events including an impressive four gold medals. Our team finished 3rd overall against some of the top teams in the country. Next up for WL-s is the Grandview Regional Tournament on March 13th.
High School Sports
The West Liberty Salem indoor track and field team competed at the University of Findlay D2/3 High School meet on Sunday. For the Lady Tigers Meghan Vogel placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run and 4th in the 1600 meter run, Hannah Ropp placed 3rd in the pole vault, Jenelle VanHorn placed 8th in the high jump, Courtney Karg placed 8th in the 800 meter run and the 4x800 relay team of Hannah Hartsel, Sarah Murphy, Vogel and Karg placed 5th. On the boys side, Austin Wilson placed 3rd in the high jump.
